Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle yet deeply effective form of body work. It was created by Osteopath and Judo Master Dr. Arthur Lincoln Pauls. Simple, elegant, respectful and fun, this work provides tools to unlock tension, improve function, dissolve pain and restore well-being. This class will cover the history and foundational principles as well as techniques for the Spine and Pelvis. You will learn and practice techniques for the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine as well as the sacrum, psoas, and ilium.
By following the client’s comfort we will employ movements and positions that exaggerate the imbalance triggering a self-correcting reflex. In Ortho-Bionomy, we rely on the body’s innate wisdom to heal itself. You’ll be amazed how gently Ortho-Bionomy works deeply into tissue, saving hands and thumbs from strain. It mixes beautifully with Massage Therapy and other modalities of body work.
Participants will leave the two-day class with techniques they can use right away. Students will be able to apply the principles and procedure to create techniques to meet their particular clients needs. Learn this non-invasive yet deeply effective approach to both acute and chronic conditions. It is effective with improved athletic performance and stress relief and it is fun!
“Would you show water how to run down a hill? It knows how, it only has to be set free. The body of man is the same; it knows; so who are we in our practiced intellect to teach it? It is better it teaches us and we observe the events that follow on.”
